CopITS – Cooperative Cars and Roads for Safer and Intelligent Transportation Systems

CopITS is an NPRP 3 years research and development project funded by the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF). It started in December 2010, and closed in March 2014.

CopITS project aims at developing new advanced communication protocols for Vehicle to Vehicle and Vehicle de Infrastructure (V2X) communications. These protocols should enable efficient and reliable support to selected vehicular applications such as safety, traffic efficiency, and infotainment applications.
Efficient wireless medium access, reliable multi-hop GeoNetworking, disruption-tolerant data dissemination, intelligent selection of radio access technologies are examples of the issues that CopITS has investigated.
